I am open almost all of the time! See the front page for my current status.
Why wasn't my commission accepted?
I am not always able to accept every project. Some species, such as protogens or any other character featuring mechanical parts, are not something I feel confident I could draw well. Or, I may just be too busy to accept your commission.
When do your other art commissions open?
All commission openings are announced on my Telegram Channel & Twitter, however, demand is high and I do not frequently have time to take non-fursuit reference commissions, such as badges, sketches, or full illustrations.
I only have a sketch, headshot, or description of my character. Can you work off of that?
Yes! I can work off of other artwork (sketches, badges, colored drawings) to accurately portray your character onto a final reference sheet.
If you do not have any artwork yet, I can work off descriptions too! It is easiest if you keep the description as simple as possible and only including details relevant to the visual aspect of the reference sheet (I do not need a detailed recount of the character's backstory). For tips on how to write a clear character description, see my Custom Design page.
Do you make artistic liberty designs/will you design a character for me?
Yes! Character design is my specialty. For more information & a portfolio of my design work, please see my Custom Design page!
What is the commission process like?
After you look over my examples and read my terms of service, you will be taken to a commission form, where you can put in all of your character's information. Once you submit it, the form is emailed to me, and I should reply to you within 24 hours with a price quote. When you are ready, I will send a paypal invoice to you and you will be added to my commission queue as soon as the payment has been received. After that, you just wait for me to work through my queue in order until I get to your reference - it will be emailed to you when it is completed!
Once I order a fursuit ref sheet, how long will it take for you to make it?
Your order will take anywhere between 1 week and 1 month to complete. The average turnaround time is about 3-4 weeks or less, but no order will ever take longer than 1 month. If something comes up and I expect delays for any reason, all current clients will be contacted and offered a refund if they would prefer their money back instead of waiting. My Commission Queue is always up to date, so you can check it at any time to see where your order is on the list.
Why does it take up to 1 month to make the ref sheet?
It does not take me 1 month to make your reference, but I am usually dealing with around 15 clients at a time, which means it takes me about 3-4 weeks to get to your art after making art for the other clients in front of you. Once it is your turn, your artwork is usually completed in one sitting, and emailed to you once it is done. The due date on your trello card in the queue is the absolute final date your reference could be completed by, and most of the time it is completed long before that date.
I can't wait, I need my reference NOW because my favorite maker is opening for commissions!
I DO offer rush order commissions! For double the cost, I will complete your concept art within 24 hours of payment. Rush orders are available all the time, even when I am closed for normal commissions. Just email me if you're interested!
Will you provide work in progress pictures of my fursuit reference?
Sometimes. Once I start working on your reference, it is completed within one sitting, and if I had to send a WIP out to every single customer, my work would be slowed down waiting for replies and feedback. The exception is for very specifically shaped characters or odd species, which often get a sketch WIP to make sure the shapes are correct. I do also provide WIPs for custom character design or re-design commissions, to make sure I'm on the right track with the design.
What if I don't like the reference or if I need something changed once it's done?
No problem! Each reference comes with a round of free changes, in case I missed anything or if you don't quite like how something has turned out. I am completely happy to work with my clients to make sure they are satisfied with their order. If you come back later after I've already made changes for you and request more, it will be at a fee of $5 for each new round of changes you request. Changes can be made for up to 6 months after your reference was completed, as that is how long I keep reference files on hand. I can try to make changes after that time has passed, but if I no longer have your files I may only be able to make small edits.
Can I color your lines to make my own ref for free?
No, sorry. This is my full-time job and I cannot give out my work for free. It is also not fair to my clients who did pay money for their references to have someone take it for free. If you want a free template to color in, there are many available online! (1, 2, 3,4, 5) - You can also search "free lineart" on Google, Deviant Art, or Furaffinity if you don't like any of these. Please do not trace or recolor my work.
Can I buy one of the character designs I see on your website?
Nope! Each and every character you see was individually commissioned by someone, it already has an owner! Instead, you can commission me to design something for you! Feel free to include examples of other characters you like the look of, to give me a better feel for your style. Or, use a free template and design your own! The furry fandom is all about being yourself and making your own character, never copy someone's design or take a character that you did not make or commission.
What tools or programs do you use to make your work?
I use a Microsoft Surface Book and Photoshop for most of my work. I also use SAI sometimes! My badges are made on normal sketchbook paper with Micron pens for lines and Prismacolor markers for colors. For sketches I usually use mechanical pencils with blue lead and any paper I can get my hands on, I'm not too picky!
Can I send you a thank you card, present, or mail?
Sure, if you'd like to! Mail may be sent to the address below. I also have an Amazon Wishlist, and a Ko-Fi if you'd like to send me a small tip to buy a coffee!
