Shiba Inu Pin
A 1.25" hard enamel pin with a collectable backing card, printed on recycled paper.
The Shiba Inu is one of the most ancient dog breeds in the world, with the breed possibly emerging around 7000 BC in Japan! Because they are so ancient, they are different from many modern breeds, mainly their personalities. They are a lot more aloof and independent than say, a golden retriever. They can be shy and almost cat-like, preferring to spend more time alone or even hide if strangers are present. They may even groom themselves like a cat! They are very loyal to their owners, but are usually distrustful of strangers or people they don't know well. Of course every dog is an individual and some are more outgoing than others, but in general, they are very reserved canines! And stubborn too; they can be pretty resistant to performing and learning tricks, or coming when called.
Shibas are also quite tiny! Not quite a toy-sized breed, but usually only about a foot tall at the shoulders and often under 20 lbs in weight. These feisty little guys were originally bred to be hunting dogs for small game, and as such they have a high prey drive and love to chase. Maybe not the best dog breed to have if you own other small animals like parrots, rabbits, chickens, etc.
In summary, the shiba inu is a sassy, stubborn little dog that doesn't like strangers. I relate a lot!
